Summary
For my presentation, I have chosen to interpret the work ofHenri Cartier Bresson. He is considered a master of candid photography and street photography specifically. His focus for photography was in France, but he also had notable work in Germany, Spain, and New York City as well. He captures the raw life of people in cities in a unique way. He highlights real life events and situations with such emotion. The images I have chosen to review are for city environments or after war destruction.
Bresson’s work helped me to visualize how perspective of important historical events can be very impactful. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the world from another person’s perspective. I really enjoyed most of his photos that had everyday people. There is so much emotion that can be perceived from the lighting and movement even in a black and white image. He has accomplished so much, and really composed art in many different ways; since he has accomplished videography, photography, and some painting.
